But in the end.. It did really matter!

Examples of Transformative Learning
Looking back on my experiences with the class, one I will certainly not forget was the numerous articles I had to comb through in a short amount of time. As such, the transformation I had coming out of this class was time management.
I found that the more and more I put off research, the harder it was to get research done when I needed it for a deadline. As such, with the later deadlines and drafts, I made sure to space out my research over time.
Additionally, I learned that the best kind of research is hard to find; the more websites and databases I searched through, the more I found relevant, useful sources.
I also found a lot of usefulness in peer-reviewing. Prior to this class and writing 50, I found peer review only good for catching minor grammatical and syntax errors. However, with the right choice of a peer review partner, and by reviewing a paper similar to your level of writing skill, peer review is immensely beneficial.
I was able to catch many errors in the paper that I was peer reviewing, and as a consequence, was able to identify those same mistakes in my own paper, and others that I had missed but did not thanks to my partner.
Taking Stock - Problems & A Plan for the Future
My main problem area in the class was apathy. At times, I felt an extreme disinterest in learning about horses and writing a paper on them, wishing I was doing anything else but writing. However, I found that by spacing out the writing that I did, and by committing chunks of time to doing the writing, it became easier and more enjoyable.
I daresay, I was even enjoying my time I spent writing certain sections, weaving word after word together into a beautifully crafted sentence.
As I was having issues with apathy, I put off a lot of work, and as such, ran into time issues. However, using my previous strategy of committing time to doing the specific task and spacing it out over time helped. I met most of my deadlines on time, and did worthwhile work.
In the future, I will learn to commit more time to doing specific tasks, so that I have less of a tendency to procrastinate and seek other distractions. Additionally, I will try to put more of an emphasis on enjoying the things I write by choosing topics that interest me thoroughly and integrating my own interests into them in little ways, like web design.
